Judging by the picture I am certain that it is the OLD standard swedish "Stora BM" quick coupler you have there. Its narrower at the top.
Most likely the original one that came with the machine. Its possible to rebuild it or order a bucket that will fit.

Some blue prints on the coupler:

/EDIT: This is a pic of my machine with the newer(up to date) "Stora BM" that is wider at the top. It can attach both old and new tools:

And i can say 100% certainly that it is the standard BM coupler that fits both the narrow and the wider tools !
The 4200 coupler just looks a little different, the wider style buckets hooks on the part of the tube that sticks outside of the flanges.

Yes I see it too now, you are right! Its just a light duty version that lacks the outer plates. But its enough since its a smaller machine.

Okay thanks! So I can just order a regular stora bm bucket and it will fit? Hopefully it doesn’t slide out but that shouldn’t be possible if it is locked in the bottom pins.

Okay, great! Better to order buckets with the newer, wider flanges in that case. If I will ever have some money, I could buy a 4200B, 4300 or L50 without having problems with too narrow buckets!
Ordered a new bucket, so hope it will arrive soon!

Little progress. Mounted the bucket cilinders and links today. Also mounted the quick coupler, new bushes and pins fit perfect. Only need some shims to prevent sideways moving.
In the cabin I needed to remove some plates but lot of bolts were rotten and broke. So welding nuts and remove in fact al covers… I removed a lot so doubt to grind, clean and paint it cause now it’s quite easy.

So I had some hours left for my 4200. Placed some bushings and new pins in the levers. And decided to remove the rust and paint of the cabin and parts. Not my favourite job, but I don’t like to mount rusted parts back on the machine. Hopefully it looks a little better when I’m finished and it won’t rust for the next few years.

Does anyone know what size wheels and rims would fit a 4200? Now there is 15.5 R 25 on it, slighly wider would be better for use in the field. What is the widest tyre that would fit the original rims?

Bit of progression, started with removing old paint layers on the cabin. As much as possible with cleaning disks on the flex, maybe the corners and difficult to reach areas with sandblasting. I don't feel like removing the front window. There are already a few cracks in it and I'm afraid it will break with removing...

And has someone experience with changing the original steps? I was thinking of making it little less steep and maybe a 10 cm more to the outside. Think my brother's father in law won't like the way to get in the cab :vissla:

And another question; where can I find decals for the interior? I would like to add the decals for the levers and the defrost decals. And even more, on the top of the box next to the seat there was also a decal but couldn't read it anymore..

Yesterday the planing bucket arrived, looks good and hope I can get the paint of it really soon

I dont think you can fit any wider tires, but maybe someone else has a different opinion...

Nice bucket. I have some tools from same manufacturer. Good to reason with and good quality.

Here you have a good wheel setup:

It is 600/55-26,5 and wider rims.

Those tires look really good, and in the field you can lower the pressure a lot more than the hard sided loader wheels I think. But first fixing the old lady before buying more stuff :vissla:

Found a log grapple on the internet, looks original volvo but for the older quick couplers. Are they any good? And is it possible to tilt it completely backwards without damaging the frame? Looks like the cilinder support is quite far to the back.
The grapple is not really necessary but now I sometimes have logs falling of the forks around the sawmill, and when cutting the ends it is nice that you can hold the log down with the arm. Makes it a little safer

If it is no real heavy work with the grapple just a log or two you can make a grapple attachement for the forks. Like a third arm.

Yes I was thinking of that to. But it is annoying that I have to remove the arm when I want to move higher wooden boxes and packs of wood. I don't have a forklift so have to use everything else with the loader. And sometimes I have big, heavy logs. At the moment I have a load of 6-8 meters 80 cm oak laying at the yard.
